After the torrential rain we’ve recently had, the weather thankfully produced glorious sunshine to welcome the Humanities Applicants to Francis Close Hall today. The day started with a welcome talk from David Webster in the Chapel, introducing them to life here in Cheltenham, and of course, included coffee and cookies for refreshments.
Individual course talks were held all around the campus, allowing applicants to see the different environments in which we learn in. This allowed them to get a more in depth sight into how our course – English Language (and Linguistics) runs, and meet one of our lecturers, Arran Stibbe.
Our first and second year course representatives, as well as Arran and Jonathan Marshal were at the stand in the Chapel displaying our course, showing previous work and books we study – not forgetting our course guide tree. This gave prospective students time to have a chat with us and see what we get up to in lectures, what modules we learn about, and what general life in Cheltenham is like.
It was great to meet future students for the English Language course today, and we’re looking forward to the next applicant day on 10th March 2016. Make sure to follow us on twitter for live updates on our next open day – 10th March
